The Neahtawanta Inn (Nee-ah-ta-wan-ta) is a unique five-room retreat on the Old Mission Peninsula near Traverse City. The Inn offers single-room rentals, or if you are in need of a location for an Up North family getaway or a group meeting space the entire Inn can be yours.
The Neahtawanta Inn has offered refined lodging for over 100 years on Old Mission Peninsula. We have 300+ feet of private waterfront directly on Bowers Harbor. The Inn is nestled in the forest to ensure your stay is quiet and relaxing.
A large porch provides a beautiful view of the water and often serves as an informal meetup space for guests. A short set of stairs leads to the beach where you will find a long dock. Popular summer activities include swimming, sunbathing, canoeing, and kayaking.
We call the original dining room “The Big Room” – and it is the room our guests love the most! It has a sunken stone fireplace, and comfortable chairs, and is the kind of room that can be whatever you need it to be – a quiet cove for solo reflection or space for group collaboration. The fact that it is right next to our extensive and comprehensive library helps too.
As a Bed & Breakfast, the Neahtawanta Inn offers healthy morning food options that are lovingly created. Other amenities include free WiFi, seasonal events, and yoga & meditation classes in a separate studio space.
At the Neahtawanta Inn, we welcome people of all backgrounds, sexual orientations, races, religions, nationalities, and belief systems. We value and cherish diversity in all its richness.
The Inn is operated on a philosophy of conservation, respect for the Earth, and sustainable living. We look forward to hearing from you.
